Hey Dragon Riders,
My name is Ashe and I am the mother here.
My first encounter with a bearded dragon was in the summer of 2014. I was SO caught off-guard by their calm disposition and how clean they were (because I had believed that lizards were scary and gross). From that day forward, I turned my back on what I thought I knew and fell in love with these strange little lizards.
Now I live in a world where having a tub full of roaches in your bedroom is totally normal!
When you have a zoo like mine, you experience health scares, financial setbacks, and the trauma caused by ten trips to and from the hardware store after impulsively starting a new DIY project.
I have grown to trust this community and have learned so much through others sharing their stories. For this reason, I am here to share my own experiences and hopefully provide a little creativity and entertainment along the way.
I am not a veterinarian or any kind of credentialed expert. The purpose of my blog is to write about my experiences and share the way I care for my reptiles. Not everyone uses the same practices. If you are seeking a professional opinion on how to care for your reptiles, dogs or hermit crabs, please consult a professional.
Based in southern California, my musings are veiled behind a thin veneer of a west coast perspective. Being captive bred, my dragons live in a warm suburban neighborhood, and that has been their entire experience in this life. That said, I will always take my colder climate comrades into consideration when giving advice or making recommendations.
